Kate Ferguson

Mindfulness coach, yoga instructor, and meditation teacher.

Kate has been practicing yoga and mindfulness based practices since 2004. She began teaching yoga in 2009. She is a certified Senior Level 2 Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance International. Over the years she has taught vinyasa style yoga to a diverse population.

Kate is a Lecturer at San Jose State University where she teaches a course titled: Mindfulness for Resilience and Stress Reduction. She has also helped organizations establish health and wellness programs for their employees. 

Kate has completed Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Foundations and Facilitator Training Courses. She is currently working to obtain her Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teaching Certificate at Brown University.

Kate’s other professional experience includes a B.A. from Providence College with a dual degree in Special and Elementary Education and a Reading Specialist, M.Ed from Lesley University.

Kate has over 20 years experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach for teachers, and Resident Teacher Program Director. Her area of focus has been on teaching newly inducted educators with a lens towards teacher preparation for inclusive education. Kate serves on the Advisory Board for the School of Education and Social Work at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.

Kate is a lifelong learner. She enjoys attending conferences, participating in mindfulness retreats, reading, and spending time in nature with her family.
